About us and how we work with you
Founder & Cabinet Maker
I began cabinet making at the age of 16 at Rycotewood college and from there moved on to complete a Degree in furniture design and craft. After the invaluable experience of this, I set out working for a few cabinet making company’s to gain some true workshop training and knowledge from my work colleagues. Through this, I had built up my skills and abilitys to create furniture to a very high standard.
Eventually my desire to create my own business had got the better of me and thus I set up Ali & Gray. We are a family run cabinet makers business which was established in 2013. So far, we have had a very encouraging begining and met some fantastic clients.
We work in consultation with you to understand exactly what you require for your home. You will be kept informed of the progress of your furniture from being crafted in the workshop to the delivery and fitting. Each piece is designed with attention to detail and the priority of every commision is for you to have exactly what you require. We are only in business due to happy customers.
We are currently based in Merton, Oxfordshire and serve all the surrounding counties and most of the UK.
How We Work
Were only here due to happy customers
Our aim is to create beautifully crafted furniture using traditional hand skills alongside modern machinery. Working with you through the entire process to ensure we create exactly what you require. We pride ourselves on our quality of craftmenship, creating bespoke furniture for any room in your home, from the kitchen to the bedroom. No commisioned job is too big or too small for us.
Within the UK we have some stunning timbers available to utilise such as Oak, Ash, Elm, Sycamore and walnut. This abundance of high quality material allows us to create stunning pieces for your home. Furthermore, we also use timbers sourced from around the world and man made materials to achieve the highest quality of furniture.
Every completed piece of furniture is the end product of an initial idea or dream. Therefore, to understand this fully we would meet with you to discuss your thoughts in person. We would take it from here, keeping you fully informed as work progresses on your commisioned piece. This will include drawings and a formal quotation for your consideration.
Once you are happy to proceed, a deposit will be required to secure the commisioning of your piece allowing a completion date to be determined and confirmed with you. Once the work is complete the remaining payment will be required in full.
